Exactly. His "race" has nothing to do with his victory. His HEART had everything to do with it and voter confidence that a heart-led leader is best.
I, too, am happy that my children will be inheriting a new POV and a fresh America. My kids have never known bigotry and they really don't understand the historical significance of Obama being elected despite his "race" - We've come full circle - we, as parents, have raised a new generation of tolerant, compassionate, THINKING children and we've just handed them HOPE for a better way to live and think with this election.

We've come full circle from the initial civil rights and "love" movements of the 60s. Feels good to see it all come together. :-)

Obama projects a number of intangible qualities, besides charisma and feels like a JFK or early Clinton before some of the less pleasant news broke out.
IMO the rest of the free world let out a collective sigh of relief the moment his victory was announced.
